The Directorate of Research, Innovation, Consultancy, and Extension at Amref International University serves as a pivotal arm mandated to generate evidence through robust research, consultancy, and extension activities. Charged with coordinating all research endeavors, nurturing innovations, and establishing crucial linkages with Amref Health Africa (AHA) globally, as well as with local and international partners, the Directorate plays a central role in extending knowledge and expertise to communities. Drawing upon Amref Health Africa's extensive 60-year legacy of delivering quality and innovative public and community health interventions across 30 countries in Africa, the Directorate operates as a dynamic think tank. It serves as a collaborative hub, bringing together students, faculty, and researchers to contextualize ideas and opportunities, ultimately contributing to informed policy decisions, impactful practices, and the overall well-being of society. Through strategic partnerships and working in collaboration with Amref Health Africa projects and programmes globally, the Directorate provides linkages for student exchange programmes, field attachments/practicums and scholarships to advance the university’s vision of developing transformational leaders.
