Oluwayemisi .E. Olagunju (RN, RM, FWACN, PhD (Ife) is a Community Health Nurse Specialist in the Department of Nursing Science, Obafemi Awolowo University. She is a Senior Lecturer and a Fellow of West African Postgraduate College of Nursing. Her basic Nursing study was from School of Nursing Osogbo with her first degree from Obafemi Awolowo University. She worked in different aspects of nursing practise ranging from Research assistant to school Nurse and Adolescent reproductive health services provider at a Non- governmental organization before coming to the academics. Her Master of Science and Doctor of Philosophy is from Obafemi Awolowo University where she is currently working. Her research interest is in the area of Adolescent health and Genetic education in the Public health domain. A member of Sigma Theta Tau International Honour Society for Nurses- Alpha Alpha Upsilon Chapter. Dr. Maduabuchi Romanus Ihekoronye
Dr. Madu Ihekoronye is a Pharmacist and a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Clinical Pharmacy and Pharmacy Administration, Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife Nigeria. He received his basic pharmacy training at the University of Nigeria, Nsukka and holds a Master in Business Administration from the Federal University of Technology, Akure. He also holds a Master of Science and Doctor of Philosophy in Pharmacy Administration from the Obafemi Awolowo University. He is a Fellow of the West African Postgraduate College of Pharmacists where he specialized in public health pharmacy. He led community pharmacists’ participation in the differentiated care model of ARV refills in the HIV program, as well as the Federal Government’s Malaria program in Ondo State. Before joining the academia, Dr. Ihekoronye had over a decade-long experience in the pharmaceutical industry, community pharmacy, and even the downstream sector of the Nigeria oil and gas market. In the academia, Dr. Ihekoronye’s research interest and specialization are in the areas of public health pharmacy, pharmaceutical marketing, and community pharmacy services management. He is a strong advocate of town-and-gown collaborative models of implementation research and actively participates in community service and networking among professional organizations. Sunday Joseph Ayamolowo is a Lecturer and researcher at the Department of Nursing Science, Faculty of Basic Medical Sciences, College of Health Sciences, Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Nigeria. He is a registered nurse and also hold a PhD in Nursing Science. His interest is in Reproductive, Maternal, Newborn and Child Health (RMNCH); eHealth, Open and Distance Learning (ODL) education. He has over 20 years work experience in nursing education, practice and research across different educational and health care settings. His current post involve provision of basic, subject and in-depth teaching/clinical training of nursing science courses and research in reproductive, maternal, newborn and child health and engage in the production of continuous learning contents of nursing and related fields. He participates in the supervision of bachelor's, master's theses, PhD dissertations and other professional studies. His post PhD research interests and aspirations is to explore further the key drivers of RMNCH and to improve knowledge, coverage, access, usage and quality of Reproductive, Maternal, Newborn and Child Health (RMNCH) information and services particularly among women of childbearing age, families and generally across the population lifespan. |
Dr. Rachel Obonose Titus lectures in the Department of Clinical Pharmacy and Pharmacy Administration, Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), Ile-Ife, Nigeria. She holds a Bachelor of Pharmacy (2000), a Master in Public Health (2011), an MSc (2018) and a PhD (2023) in Pharmacy Administration. Dr. Titus’s career spans pharmacy and public health concerns, including community pharmacy, pharmaceutical regulatory agency (NAFDAC), and public health programmes coordination. She has coordinated the implementation of public health programmes for a church-based non-governmental organization from 2005 to 2013. She was one of the WHO-sponsored resource persons at the workshop for the Supply Chain Management for Health Commodities for Somalia held in Uganda (2013). Her notable works include studies and reports on medicine information leaflets, health insurance, community mobilization for HIV services, and pharmacy resilience during the COVID-19 pandemic. Dr Rachel is a Fellow of the University Administrative Support Programme {IREX-UASP) and the Africa Oxford Initiative (2024/2025 cohort). She was awarded the Best Abstract Poster Presentation at the Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria’s Conference in 2022 for her case study on the Innovative Management of Community Pharmacies during the COVID-19 pandemic. She has won grants for research incorporating music in stress management, and for HIV Awareness among barbers and hairdressers. Dr. Omoyiola Abidemi Oludolapo
Dr. Omoyiola Abidemi Oludolapo is a consultant hematologist/medical oncologist at the Obafemi Awolowo University Teaching Hospital and an associate lecturer at the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Nigeria He holds a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBChB) degree from Obafemi Awolowo University. He is a Fellow of the West African College of Physicians and has completed a medical oncology fellowship at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in the USA. Additionally, he is a clinical scholar in the National Cancer Research Training (NCAT) program and is currently enrolled in the Principles and Practice of Clinical Research (PPCR) course at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health. Dr. Omoyiola’s interests lie in clinical and cancer treatment research. He is currently developing models for contemporary medical oncology practice in Nigeria and has publications in local and international journals. |
Dr. Azuka Raphael Njokanma, is an associate lecturer and a consultant Oral & Maxillofacial surgeon at the department of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery, Obafemi Awolowo University/Teaching Hospitals complex, Ile-Ife, Nigeria. He earned his Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BChD) degree from the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Nigeria. He is a fellow of the West African College of Surgeons, an Arbeitsgemeinschaft für Osteosynthesefragen fellow, Switzerland, and a fellow of the International College of Surgeons (ICS). In 2018, he received the Olayinka Otuyemi Prize for the best dissertation in the Faculty of Dental Surgery, West African College of Surgeons. In 2019, Dr. Njokanma was selected as a Nigerian Institute of Medical Research (NIMR) scholar for the Grantsmanship and Mentorship Program. He became an online learning scholar for the American Cleft Palate and Craniofacial Association (ACPA) in 2020 and served as a guest lecturer at the Smile Train/West African College of Surgeons Telecleft series that same year. Additionally, Dr. Njokanma is a National Cancer Research Training (NCAT) clinical scholar and is currently enrolled in the Principles and Practice of Clinical Research (PPCR) program at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health. Dr. Njokanma also served as the immediate past National Chairman of the Research, Scientific and Development Committee of the Nigerian Dental Association; Member of the National Technical Working committee, for cancer Prevention and control, Ministry of Health, Nigeria. His research interests span bio-engineering with the use of platelet-rich fibrin, orofacial clefts and maxillofacial oncology. He has publications in local and international journals. |
Dr Ajani is a Consultant Dermatologist/ Genitourinary Physician and a Senior Lecturer with the Department of Dermatology and Venereology, OAU/OAUTHC, Ile-Ife, Osun State Nigeria. She earned her Bachelor of Medicine & Surgery degree (MBChB) and Masters Degree in Public Health from the Obafemi Awolowo University Ile-Ife Nigeria. She is also a fellow of the West African College of Physicians, Subspecialty- dermatology and genitourinary medicine, with special interest in research in dermatology therapeutics, neglected tropical disease, psycho-dermatology and geriatric dermatology. Dr. Adewale Alex Amupitan is an Associate Lecturer and Consultant Clinical Microbiologist in the Department of Medical Microbiology and Parasitology at the Obafemi Awolowo University/Teaching Hospitals Complex in Ile-Ife, Nigeria. He has built a reputable career in Medical Microbiology through his dedication to education and clinical practice. Dr. Amupitan began his academic journey at the University of Ilorin, where he earned his Bachelor of Science in Microbiology in 2001. He went on to obtain his Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) in 2010. He received a Membership Certificate in Laboratory Medicine from the West African College of Physicians in 2016. He excelled in his studies and was awarded a Fellowship Certificate in Medical Microbiology from the National Postgraduate Medical College of Nigeria in 2020, establishing himself as a leader in his field. In addition to his clinical duties, Dr. Amupitan is a certified Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) practitioner. He completed training in the Surveillance, Prevention, and Control of Hospital-Acquired Infections at the University College Hospital in Ibadan in 2021, where he was recognised as the top candidate in his cohort. He further enhanced his qualifications through specialised studies in IPC at the Centre for Infection Control and Patient Safety at the College of Medicine, University of Lagos, earning a professional diploma in IPC in 2023. Dr. Amupitan's research interests are strategically aligned with pressing global health challenges, focusing on critical areas such as Antimicrobial Resistance Surveillance and Stewardship, innovative Infection Prevention and Control methodologies, and the Molecular Diagnosis of Infectious Diseases. His work aims to improve healthcare outcomes and is supported by publications in reputable local and international journals, reflecting his contributions to advancing knowledge and practice in Medical Microbiology. I am Abiodun Ajeigbe, a highly motivated laboratory physician and researcher at the Obafemi Awolowo University and its Teaching Hospital in Ile-Ife, Nigeria. I have professional qualification in Chemical Pathology and an MSc in Pharmacology. Presently, I am enrolled in a Ph.D. program in Chemical Pathology at the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Nigeria. I am also a scholar of the Global Research Academy for Clinical Toxicology (GRACT), Edinburgh, United Kingdom. My core professional competences are in the areas of screening, diagnosis, and monitoring of diseases using biochemical tools with the clinical applications for disease management. I have special interests in analytical toxicology involving drugs and chemicals of both environmental and clinical relevance for disease prevention and management. I am motivated to develop robust research on personalized therapeutic responses using molecular techniques as applicable to clinical toxicology. Dr. Olujide Arije is a Senior Research Fellow at the Institute of Public Health, College of Health Sciences, Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Nigeria. He earned his Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) from the University of Ibadan, Nigeria, in January 2005. Continuing his education, he obtained a Postgraduate Diploma (PGD) in International Health Policy and Evaluation from Erasmus University Rotterdam, Netherlands, in May 2010. Dr. Arije pursued further specialization in Public Health with a Fellowship at the West African College of Physicians, Ile-Ife, Nigeria, completed in September 2015. Adding to his qualifications, he completed a Master of Business Administration (MBA) at Obafemi Awolowo University in December 2017, and a Soudavar Fellowship in Biostatistics and Epidemiology at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, New York, in November 2022. He concluded his academic journey with a PhD in Public Health from the University of Witwatersrand, South Africa, in December 2023. Since 2017, Dr. Arije has served as an Honorary Consultant in Public Health, focusing on epidemiological research and healthcare policy in resource-limited settings. Dr. Arije’s achievements include receiving the 2019/2020 Doctoral Fellowship award from the Consortium for Advanced Research and Training in Africa (CARTA), along with several honors for academic excellence during his fellowship and public health training. His research interests encompass adolescent health service utilization, reproductive health services, and the evaluation of health policies and systems, particularly in maternal, adolescent and child health. Dr. Arije has established the Biostatistics Research and Training Group at the Institute of Public Health, Obafemi Awolowo University, to foster ongoing research and training initiatives. Recently appointed as the Physician-in-Charge of the Rural Comprehensive Health Center in Imesi-Ile, he continues to demonstrate his commitment to improving healthcare access in underserved communities. |
