Representatives from The Global Health Network, conducted a research visit to Gombe State and Obafemi Awolowo University in Nigeria. The visit aimed to enhance local research capacity and foster future collaborations.
In Gombe, discussions with health officials and a three-day training at the Snake Bite Treatment and Research Hospital (SBRTH) focused on improving research and data science skills. Key topics included implementing electronic health records, advancing laboratory-based research, and increasing access to anti-snake venom. In Ife, strategic meetings with university leaders addressed research capacity gaps through partnerships and TGHN initiatives, and advancing capacity and collaboration, through exploring funding opportunities aimed at improving health outcomes in Nigeria and the broader sub-Saharan region.
